Work Bag: MZ Wallace Jane Bag

Every woman needs at least one low-maintenance, practical bag that they can carry on a daily basis without having to worry about the material getting damaged or getting it dirty. This bag will most likely not be made of leather, and it will probably bear a slight resemblance to a diaper bag at first glance. Not to fret,  the look will quickly grow on you as you observe that the functional qualities of the bag far outweigh the not so glamorous appearance.

To qualify, the bag must have the following features:

1. Must be constructed from a waterproof nylon material that is easy to clean
2. Must be lightweight and comfortably carried on your shoulder, with an arm handle drop between 8-11 inches
3. Must be able to fit a laptop and/or iPad comfortably inside as well as any items you need for the day
4. Must have a zipper closure so that no thieves can easily reach in and steal something

Two bags that have all these features are the Longchamp 'Le Pliage' and the MZ Wallace 'Jane'.  I own both and can confidently say that I have gotten more use out of them than any of my other bags. I've used them to carry my books and laptop for school, to commute to and from work, and even as an overnight bag when I go on short trips. I decided to retire my Longchamp bag last month after putting it through 4 years of heavy use. I never had it professionally cleaned, and it has managed to still look great after all those years! The only reason I am tucking it away is because I discovered a new functional bag that I have fallen in love with. Enter the MZ Wallace 'Jane bag'.

The biggest difference between the two is that the MZ Wallace has an incredible amount of pockets (most of them with zippers) and you can seriously stuff some major baggage into it. The Longchamp had a large carrying capacity as well, but it only had one small flimsy pocket inside of the bag. Because of this, I would often spend minutes digging through the contents of my bag to locate my keys or whatever item I needed. I also enjoy the material of the MZ Wallace more. The inside and outside of the bag are constructed from much higher quality materials than the Longchamp. Additionally, the MZ Wallace looks much smaller and proportionate on my body than the Longchamp. Surprisingly, I can comfortably carry more in the MZ Wallace! The numerous pockets are magical. You will be shocked at how much you can fit inside without the bag feeling too bulky or heavy.

Even more pockets on the inside, there are two pockets inside the zippered inner side pocket

If you're searching for a work bag to keep up with your busy, packed life, this is the bag to own. I wasn't in love with how it looked at first, but I quickly fell in love after I started using it. Out of the selection you have for travel friendly bags, this is one of the more stylish choices. At a price point of $365, you can't go wrong with choosing the MZ Wallace 'Jane'!
