As you can see from my post last night, I've been feenin' for the minimalist strappy sandal look, particularly the Saint Laurent version. In all honesty, ankle strap shoes are not for me. I absolutely love the look of them on other people, but it is a style that is extremely hard for me to pull off. I have short, stubby legs, and the placement of the strap always emphasizes this.
However, I found a decent dupe today of the 'Jane' sandals. The style is 'Marlenee' by Steve Madden. Height is pretty much the same. The major difference is that the 'Marlenee' is thicker in all areas, which I don't like. The ankle strap, toe strap, and heel are all noticeably thicker than the 'Jane', and I don't think it looks as chic. They also look much cheaper and are not high quality shoes. With that being said, they are only $99 ($700 cheaper than the 'Jane') so you have to take that into consideration. They're not comfortable, but that's to be expected. If your main concern is comfort and you want the minimalist sandal look, your best bet is to go for the Manolo Blahnik 'Chaos'. I have yet to try a pair of Manolos I haven't felt comfortable in.
Feet turning red. Painful.
I am not the biggest fan of my arms :(
I still have my eye on the Saint Laurent 'Jane' sandals, although it's not a major want anymore. $795 for a style that's not flattering on me is not something I am willing to pay. No matter how beautiful the shoe is. It's very important to shop for your body and what feels right to you!
